Apollo’s Story – Lymphoma
Apollo is the much loved family cat belonging to the Bend family, he has lived with them since he was a kitten. For 12 years Apollo has been a healthy and happy cat, so it was strange for the family to see that he was becoming unwell. He started sneezing a great deal and then started having nose bleeds. Unsure of what the root of the problem was, his primary care vet referred him to Fitzpatrick Referrals Oncology and Soft Tissue in Guildford.
Apollo was seen by Dr Kelvin Kow who carried out tests including Biopsies and CT Scan. He was able to diagnose that Apollo had a lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes. After a discussion with Mr Bend, the team recommended a course of chemotherapy.
Apollo has benefited so much from the treatment, and despite the fact he will receive treatment for the rest of his life, he is happy and always enjoys the fuss he has from the staff at the Oncology Hospital!
