Samantha Wells

Chartered Physiotherapist & Veterinary Physiotherapist / MSc Vet Phys BSc (Hons) ACPAT Cat A MCSP HCPC

Sam qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Human Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire in 2008. She worked in all areas of physiotherapy for the NHS before specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 2011.

Sam qualified as a Cat A ACPAT Veterinary Physiotherapist from the University of Liverpool in May 2014 while continuing to work full-time in the NHS. It was in September 2014 that Sam joined Fitzpatrick Referrals’ rehabilitation team and completed her MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2015.

She is passionate about all areas of rehabilitation and is particularly keen to develop the inpatient service to help the patients return to optimal function as quickly as possible following injury or surgery.

Sam grew up with animals and is a keen horse rider, and currently owns two Border Collies which she has started training for agility with.

I am keen to carry on with further research to help progress veterinary physiotherapy, so the animals can receive the same standard of care as in the human medicine world.
