At Fitzpatrick Referrals we are grounded in serving your everyday needs –but also strive to make the seemingly impossible truly possible for our clients and patients. Repeatable success in treating routine conditions such as ligament ruptures, fracture repair and spinal disease are the foundation of any neuro-orthopaedic practice. However at Fitzpatrick Referrals we have developed special expertise in several novel arenas with ground breaking results.

We are available 24 hours, 365 days a year for referrals of all types of musculo-skeletal, brain and spinal conditions. Emergency cases are always seen immediately. We operate an entirely digital imaging system throughout the practice including MRI, CT, arthroscopy and the only Eklin™direct digital radiography system for small animals in the UK.

This increases the sensitivity of our diagnostics allowing us to answer your questions quickly and accurately. This is the first system of its kind dedicated to small animals in the UK and allows us to rapidly provide superlative images as part of our drive to set a new benchmark for the gold standard of care. We also offer MRI and CT imaging on a routine basis and these imaging modalities provide us with information which was previously not available. Rapid high-quality advanced diagnostic imaging assists us toward rapid resolution of debilitating conditions and facilitate early diagnosis, so minimising patient trauma and optimising recovery.

We are pioneers of joint replacement (hip, stifle, elbow and hock) and are one of only a few practices worldwide offering hip replacement for cats and stifle replacement for dogs. We are the only practice in the world offering certain types of limb prostheses for cancer and severe trauma and the only practice in the UK offering novel joint surgery such as sliding humeral osteotomy, hemi-prostheses and cartilage transplant. We have special expertise in treating severe trauma with associated tissue loss, growth deformities, arthroscopic minimally invasive surgery and several innovative spinal decompression and stabilization techniques.

For patients requiring boarding we offer unique hyper-clean facilities with comfort and care levels unparalleled in the UK – individual Corian™ rooms with integrated TV and sound system – not traditional cage/kennel!

Our practice now boasts a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy and physical therapy centre . Whereas other practices may offer a narrow glass tank for hydrotherapy sessions, which may cause stress to animals who don't like feeling confined, Fitzpatrick Referrals offers a sunlit space equipped with a spacious, built-in, blue-tiled pool, making our one-to-one rehabilitation process more like a relaxing spa retreat for you and your animal companion. Our Chartered Animal Physiotherapist creates a unique rehabilitation programme including physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions for every single one of our patients ensuring that all get the very best in post-operative care.

Kennels

As part of our end-to-end service objectives, we now offer a boarding service as an adjunct to our in-patient kennelling and treatment protocols. We are aware the requirements for care after certain procedures can be challenging to fit into your already hectic daily routines and one of our nursing staff will happily take care of any patient in our new centre with dedicated comfortable kennelling and round-the-clock monitoring when owners have difficulty coping. This is a common challenge with complex spinal and trauma cases and this unique service allows us to provide an integrated pain-management, nursing and rehabilitation program postoperatively and to support you and your pet during this difficult time. Our physical therapist interacts with all cases as necessary upon request.
