Ricardo graduated in 2008 from the University of Evora in Portugal. After some locum experience, he worked in a busy veterinary hospital in Parede, Portugal, until September 2010. As he enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures, Ricardo set himself the goal of seeking to continue his professional development abroad. This took him to the UK in November 2010, where he joined the small animal rotating internship program at NKR Veterinary Specialists in Kent and DWR in May 2012, to strengthen his knowledge in all fields of veterinary medicine and particularly neurology. After two years of experience in practice in central London, Ricardo joined Fitzpatrick Referrals in August 2015, where he is enrolled in a European College of Veterinary Neurology approved residency.
Ricardo’s main interests include neurosurgery and inflammatory brain diseases.
