Neurology Internship
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our neurology intern team.
Fitzpatrick Referrals is a world-renowned veterinary referral centre based in Surrey, with a proven track record for helping interns achieve residency positions for more than a decade. The facilities include 1.5T MRI, 160 slice CT, electrophysiology, onsite 3D printer and off-site custom implant design services.
The neurology internship programme is for a 12-month period and will provide training in clinical neurology, neurosurgery, electrodiagnostics, neuroimaging, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neuropathology. As an intern, you will play an integral role assisting the neurology clinicians in the daily care of patients, consultations, diagnostic procedures and neurosurgeries. We place a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and work with a team of physiotherapists and hydrotherapists. There is also the opportunity for active involvement in some of the world’s most innovative and advanced neurosurgical procedures, some of which are unique to our hospital. The programme includes weekly seminars and journal clubs and offers support and encouragement to prepare and publish scientific research during your internship.
The successful candidate will be a veterinary surgeon and preferably have completed a one-year general internship or at least two years of general small animal practice. In addition, you will be care-driven, have excellent communication skills, be exceptionally organised, thorough and be able to operate in a 24/7 team environment. Registration with the RCVS and the right to work in the UK will be required. Overseas applicants must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. Visa sponsorship is available.
We offer a competitive salary and remuneration package including RCVS registration, VDS membership, funded CPD, pension scheme, health cash plan, an employee assistance programme and an onsite gym. Offsite shared accommodation is available.
