Senior Surgeon / Department Lead in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery – Eashing

Apply by: 02 January 2018
Department: Orthopaedic Service
Reports to: Clinical Director

This is an exceptional opportunity to join, and for the right candidate to lead, our Orthopaedic Department at Fitzpatrick Referrals.

Fitzpatrick Referrals is an independent, specialist referral-only small animal veterinary practice based in Eashing, Surrey, UK with breath-taking views across the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of both the south coast and the vibrancy of London.

The practice has a reputation for surgical innovation and important clinical research with very large case numbers and we attract some of the most interesting and complex cases from both primary and secondary care. Whilst we operate routine cases daily, we also carry out advanced procedures weekly and have spearheaded the development of many new techniques. We have state-of-the-art CT and MRI facilities, an on-site rehabilitation department and a full range of high-quality surgical equipment to operate at the highest level.

The successful applicant will join our team of specialist orthopaedic surgeons assisted by four ECVS residents and a team of dedicated surgical interns all supported by a team of highly skilled, qualified nurses, radiographers and physiotherapists. You will work in close collaboration with our specialist neurology team and our sister hospital, specialising in oncology and soft tissue surgery, will facilitate interaction with several other specialist surgeons and clinicians and give access to the full range of support for the patient journey and for professional advancement.

We are looking for an ECVS/ACVS/RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery (Board-eligible surgeons should also apply). We offer a generous salary commensurate with experience plus benefits including pension contributions, private healthcare, life assurance, funding of RCVS and Specialist renewal and a generous annual and CPD package.
