Truffle’s intervertebral disc disease (IVDD)

It’s after hours at Fitzpatrick Referrals, and adorable dachshund, Truffle, is waiting to see Professor Noel Fitzpatrick with a spinal emergency.

Truffle’s family is deeply worried after their friend screamed in pain and began to struggle to use his back legs. An MRI scan reveals an unusual problem with a leaking spinal disc in Truffle’s neck, not only causing extreme pain but putting him at risk of paralysis too.

It’s a tense night for Noel and the team as Truffle heads straight into surgery in the hope they can to get the loveable dachshund out of pain and back on all four feet.
