Jack’s story – middle / inner ear infection
Sweet Somali cat Jack lapped up all the fuss from Prep Veterinary Care Assistant Emily whilst at Fitzpatrick Referrals Orthopaedics and Neurology, recently.
14-year-old Jack was referred by his local vet to our neurology service after he became ataxic (wobbly) on his back legs and developed a right head tilt.
Under the care of Neurology Registrar Joana Tabanez, Jack had an MRI and a CSF sample taken.
We were relieved to not find anything sinister and he was diagnosed with otitis media/interna (middle/inner ear infection).
Jack is now happily back home on antibiotics and we’ll continue to monitor his recovery.
