Dr Tomas Elvira graduated from Alfonso X El Sabio University in Madrid (Spain) in 2011. He spent several years working in different veterinary hospitals across Spain, where he also completed a postgraduate certificate in veterinary neurology and a neurology internship under the supervision of a European Neurology Diplomate (Dipl. ECVN) at Vetsia Veterinary Referral Hospital in Madrid.

Tomas moved to the UK in 2020 to pursue his goal of becoming a neurology specialist. After working for several months in a busy general practice clinic in Chippenham, Wiltshire, he completed a rotating internship, followed by a neurology internship. He then undertook a three-year European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN) approved residency programme in neurology and neurosurgery in a large multidisciplinary referral hospital in Hampshire, before joining Fitzpatrick Referrals in February 2026.

Tomas enjoys all aspects of veterinary neurology, but his areas of interest include neuroimaging, inflammatory/infectious disorders affecting the nervous system and neurosurgery.
