Surgical Internship – Eashing
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic applicants to join our intern team.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate into a true multidisciplinary caregiving team. The internship at Fitzpatrick Referrals Orthopaedics and Neurology is a fixed one-year position. The successful candidates will work under the supervision of specialists in orthopaedic surgery, neurology and anaesthesia.
As an intern you will play an integral role in the day to day running of the clinic; assisting in surgery, helping work up patients on behalf of the specialist team and providing world-class in-patient care. There is also the opportunity for exposure to some of the world’s most innovative and advanced orthopaedic and neurosurgical procedures. The programme will provide you with the opportunity to grow and develop as a veterinary surgeon. You will be provided with a structured programme of education including weekly seminars and journal clubs. Interns are also encouraged to prepare and publish scientific research during their internship.
Applicants must be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Previous experience in small animal practice or an internship is an advantage, but excellent new graduates will also be considered. Overseas applicants must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. If you are not exempt from proving your English language proficiency, possession of the IELTS-Academic test, with an average overall score of at least 7.0 and a minimum of 6.5 in one of the listening, reading, writing and speaking components is required.
We offer a competitive salary and remuneration package including offsite shared accommodation, RCVS registration, VDS membership, funded CPD, pension scheme, health cash plan, an employee assistance programme and free VET Festival ticket.
