We are hugely proud to have one of our nursing team speaking at this years BSAVA congress. Fraje carried out a research project during her final year of her nursing degree investigating the accuracy of different temperature monitoring system and will present the results at this years BSAVA Congress! Visit our website for the full story!

The abstract Fraje submitted was from her final year research project at Royal Veterinary College and measures the accuracy of a tympanic membrane thermometer and rectal thermometer compared to core oesophageal (considered gold standard in this study) in cats under general anaesthesia. The tympanic membrane thermometers measured much lower (average -0.93C difference) than oesophageal temps whereas rectal temperatures were quite similar (average + 0.06C difference).

Fraje will be speaking at 16:50 on Friday – visit the BSAVA website for more information.
