Head Veterinary Nurse
We are seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to lead our dedicated nursing and veterinary care assistant teams in delivering exceptional care to every patient entrusted to us.
Fitzpatrick Referrals is an independent specialist veterinary referral practice in Surrey, delivering world-class orthopaedic and neurology care to patients from across the UK and beyond.
The role
We are looking for an experienced registered veterinary nurse who has previous experience as a head nurse or similar position and shares our vision to marry compassionate care with excellence in veterinary medicine. As head nurse, you will lead a team of approximately 80 veterinary nurses and care assistants along with the support of the nursing management structure and wider senior leadership team.
This role requires exceptional leadership skills, someone with a positive attitude who shows compassion and direction, and who is able to manage teams within a fast-paced environment. You must possess clinical confidence and competence, along with the ability to make decisions. You will be empathetic and supportive and act as a positive role model at all times. Experience with orthopaedic and neurology patients would be an advantage, but not essential.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week over 5 days with some flexibility to ensure you have a presence across our 24/7 referral centre. In return, you will be part of a dedicated team delivering the best compassionate care, surgical excellence and rehabilitation for our patients. The salary for this position is between £38,000 and £43,000 per annum depending on experience.

The practice
The practice is located in the south west of Surrey, just outside the historic market town of Godalming, close to Guildford and the beautiful Surrey Hills with excellent travel links to London.
